Working alongside our sister company Cook Brown Building Control; a registered Approved Inspector, we were appointed by Wedgewood Buildings Ltd to conduct an on-construction SAP Assessment & Energy Performance Certificate for a cabin style holiday retreat property, in South Devon.
The retreat has been designed as a single-storey timber clad building, with a first-floor gallery overlooking the living room and a balcony offering panoramic views over the countryside. The clever design of the building allows for ample natural light from skylights, a patio door and large glass windows to the front of the building.
The dwelling receives its electrical energy from an existing solar PV system in an adjacent field, which provides a good fabric u-value and allows the building to be very airtight, in conjunction with the Solar PV the resulting property is carbon positive.
