Building Logbooks

Building Logbooks

What are Building Logbooks?

Building Logbooks are a way of showing compliance with Regulation 40 of the Building Regulations. This regulation requires the building owner to be provided with sufficient information about the building services to help them operate the building properly and efficiently. Building Logbooks are required for new buildings and for existing buildings where the services have changed, although it is not a requirement under Building Regulations it is recommended that existing buildings would also benefit from a Building Logbook.

Building Logbooks are generally produced following CIBSE TM31, this provides a formatted and consistent approach for building owners to understand how their building is intended to operate.

Our consultants can produce a detailed Building Logbook specific to your project to ensure information is available to building occupiers for the efficient use of the building services and to aid future energy assessors conducting EPC renewals.
