BREEAM – Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology, is a certification tool used to ascertain the environmental credentials of both domestic and non-domestic buildings via an established rating.
Primarily used for non-domestic buildings, the aim of BREEAM is to encourage a green built environment via the three pillars of sustainability. Looking at economic, social, and environmental issues throughout the project process as early as stage 2 through to completion, BREEAM assessments encompass what it truly is to be sustainable.
BREEAM is widely applied to all non-domestic projects during the planning process, and we can help and guide teams through to completion from the offset to ensure the success of achieving the desired rating. We believe the earlier in the project process BREEAM is considered within the design process the more beneficial the outcome and the real impact on the project.
Initially working with the team to establish a strategy via carrying out a pre-assessment, we encourage early engagement to ensure the following two stages; the Design Stage Assessment and the Post Construction Review, are successful in achieving the desired BREEAM rating.
