Since we launched our consultancy service into the construction sector to provide dedicated energy and sustainability services to clients, just over two years, we have expanded our services portfolio as part of our growth strategy for 2020 and beyond.

Despite this year being an exceptionally challenging year due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and adapting to new methods of working, we have remained focussed both practically and strategically and are excited to offer BREEAM services to our clients as we welcomed additional expertise, Mitzi Wells, into our team this autumn.

BREEAM – Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology – is a certification tool used to ascertain the environmental credentials of both domestic and non-domestic buildings via an established rating and fits perfectly well into our Environment and Sustainability services team.

The aim of BREEAM is to encourage a green built environment via the three pillars of sustainability which is looking at economic, social and environmental issues throughout the project process as early as stage 2 through to completion, BREEAM assessments encompass what it truly is to be sustainable.

This means that we can help to guide clients and their teams through all stages of their construction project to ensure the success of achieving the desired rating. We believe that the earlier in the design project process BREEAM is considered, the more beneficial the outcome and the greater impact on the project.

Initially working with the team to establish a strategy via carrying out a pre-assessment, we encourage early engagement to ensure the following two stages; the Design Stage Assessment and the post construction review, are successful in achieving the desired BREEAM rating.

“I am delighted to have joined Cook Brown Energy at this exciting time. Matthew Hodges – Senior Energy Consultant – employed both Mike Lindlahr and myself, a little over two months ago, with the vision to grow the service offering of the company. Delving into the experience we all have to offer; we have successfully expanded our service offering and are now in a position to roll out BREEAM to our clients across the UK.”
