We are thrilled to have been referred by our sister company, BRCS (Building Control) Ltd, to provide Energy Consultancy services for the extension of the new Primrose Hill Café, London.

The Royal Parks commissioned the extension of Primrose Hill’s existing toilet block to create a new café, with inside seating area, associated kitchen and storage area. To the outer of the building, visitors have access to a seating area close to the playground.

Due to the café being leased to a third-party provider, our qualified Energy Assessor assisted the client to understand their requirements to comply with Part L2B of the Building Regulations and MEES Regulations. We completed on-site assessments – in accordance with COVID-19 working guidelines – within the client’s time frame, to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for the new building.

The newly built Café is positioned at the foot of Primrose Hill, which is well-known as one of the six protected viewpoints of London. The summit is almost 63 metres above sea level and the trees are kept low so as not to obscure the panoramic views over the adjacent Regent’s Park and the city beyond.

“This project is a great addition to Primrose Hill and will be very popular with those who use this distinctive London park. We hope to continue building a good relationship with The Royal Parks and look forward to working on the next project.”

Senior Energy Assessor, Matthew Hodges
