3D Condensation Risk Analysis for new modular hospital ward

We were appointed to assess risk of condensation associated with the steel column junctions which are embedded within the corridor walls of a new modular hospital ward accommodation block.

To reduce client costs we offered their building inspector a 2D interstitial condensation risk analysis, showing the dewpoint at set relative humidity and temperature levels.  Making our client aware that a more in depth 3D study may be requested.

The assessment involved calculating the Temperature Factor for the junction in order to assess the risk of surface condensation and mould growth. TRISCO 3D software was used to create a 3D Psi-value calculations on the column before including the temperature factors to determine the Chi-value, which are the point thermal transmission coefficients.

Kris Robinson, Commercial Director at Kingston Modular Systems Ltd kindly gave us his feedback on the service he received.

“I would just like to thank you for your prompt and efficient response to our enquiry, the service received was second to none with a fully detailed report received very quickly, we look forward to working with Carlos & the team at Cook Brown Energy on future projects.”

“We are often asked for consultancy services that offer a scientific approach to prove compliance/mitigate risk. In this case we combined several of our skill capabilities to create a completely new assessment methodology, the results were drawn up into a comprehensive report, making it easy to follow and even easier to audit.  Challenge us with the problem and we’ll offer the solution.”
